I don’t know why it would be surprising that women like watching it. As the article notes, most pr0n is made for men, and not particularly debonair men. If I never again see fellatio in pr0n, it would be too soon. I really do think that the proliferation of terrible pr0n is a cause of a lot of sexual dissatisfaction among millennials, many of whom likely don’t know what good sex is, because they don’t understand how unrealistic most pr0n is.

Surveying 500 women seems like a good sample size but we don’t know how they were selected. A better study would look at the data from porn sites and then infer viewing preferences, although there are some big mistakes that can be made in inferring why someone watched a particular video.
The article does show that there is an unversed market in the porn industry if women have to watch gay males having sex to find what they want. This seems hard to believe from an industry that serves every kink a human can imagine.
Incest porn is a popular genre (so I’m told), but sometimes a friend of mine clicks on those videos just because an actress he’s fond of is in it. So I’m told.
If my gay-porn-watching female friend is anything to go by, women watch it for the same reason many men watch lesbian porn: because there’s twice as much of everything they want to see.
