A lot of different populations had to move at the end of WWI. Why would the Ottomans be any more special than anyone else who lost the war? And its not like the Jews, Christians, or anyone else, gets right of return to Arab countries.
I always thought that a reasonable compromise for peace would be:
Palestinians give up right of return
Israel goes back to 67 boundaries.
Neither one would probably accept that exchange of compromises which only tells me it might have been the way to go.
