She probably didn’t have a prayer. Bear in mind, a lot of people running right now are really running for Vice President, hoping to be a good choice for reaching out to a different wing of the party than the eventual nominee, or they are trying to make a name this cycle in preparation for the next cycle in four years.
Same thing happens with the GOP, when the sitting GOP president is not running.
