I think this latest hubbub is meant to take out Biden, and all the Trump/Ukraine talk is just a bonus for those trying to take out Biden. Ultimately; this is getting the stuff out now that would keep Biden from being elected. Which is a shame, because I rather have Biden than any of the loyal socialists.
The story seems to have come out before Trump’s team was ready to have it unleashed, given it was kicked off by a “whistle blower”. From a strategic perspective, the early release might eliminate Biden as a primary contender instead of crippling him in the general election. However, I think all the other front runners are far more flawed and less electable than Biden, as he was the reasonably sane one.
On this story, Trump has Democrats in a kill box. Everything Democrats and liberal pundits said about the importance of investigating Trump applies even more to Biden’s foreign activities, and you’d think they’d realize that. But Trump is holding the laser pointer and they can’t fail to jump at the dot.
Unable to pause and take stock, they’re screaming that investigating a candidate’s foreign collusion and corruption is impeachable. That flips their entire Comey/Mueller position upside down, because suddenly it’s okay to get in bed with foreign governments, get millions in payoffs, and commit extortion and obstruction of justice to avoid getting caught, and what’s suddenly claimed to be impeachable is trying to expose such malfeasance.
They can’t stop screaming about it, and all they’re doing is drawing more and more attention to what Biden was doing abroad, and anybody who sniffs closely at it will recoil from the stench. Hunter Biden will possibly go down for the count, and Joe will probably lose the primary by looking wounded and unelectable.
Obama told Biden not to run, but he ran anyway. Obama had to know of Biden’s reckless deals because a Vice President can’t route all the foreign phone calls to his personal phone. Obama probably surmised that in a Presidential race, Biden and his family would get investigated, exposed, and destroyed because Biden wasn’t smart enough to keep the corruption well buried.
And now the press and the Democrats will unwittingly do Trump’s dirty work, thinking they’re going to get Trump as they fire with both barrels – and hit Biden, who was standing right behind the Trump poster they shot at.

I’d rather Biden be running against Trump because reality slapping Biden in the face would by hilarious.
Biden wouldn’t be the one running things. The marxist machine the is the skeleton of the Democrat party would staff all the positions and enact all the policies. There wouldn’t be any difference between Biden and anyone else except that someone like Biden presents the opportunity to be deceitful about what is taking place.

The press is doing its utmost to make this into an impeachable event for Trump. George Turner’s brilliant statement of the logical problem with this approach should be unanswerable. But the degree to which the media are able to succeed in propagandizing this country never fails to astonish me.
For my own part, I would bet on a Biden-Warren ticket, with Biden either dying or quitting early on due to health issues.
I would go further. Leaving aside that on actual policy I can see no daylight between Sleepy Joe and any of the other Democratic candidates, and the fact that some people find his “goofy Grandpa” stage persona more palatable than the Angry Young Man/Revolutionary Zealot routine the others are doing is a distinction without a difference, the nature and makeup of the Left in the US have changed significantly just since 9/11.
The Democrats are now the We Hate Wypipo Party. They took Obama’s election as a signal that the hated white men, the Class Enemy, had lost power. Ilhan Omar and Maxine Waters are this party’s new face. I predict that the Democrats will never nominate a white male for the Presidency again. They think the demographic changes they have planned and engineered are bearing fruit and everything is about to fall into their laps. They think they no longer have to pretend. I think we are more likely to see a Kamala Harris/Shirley Sherrod ticket in 2020, for a double shot of Grrl Powah and F**k You Whitey. They might even go for Ilhan Omar in the Presidential slot (“Somalia? No, I was born in Minneapolis. Are you some kind of conspiracy theorist? No, I won’t show you my birth certificate, you RACIST”) just to rub Whitey’s nose in it, maybe with Carol Mosely-Braun in the VP slot.
