The New Post-Trump Constitution

This isn’t going to end well.

If they insist on witnesses, I want to see Schiff on the stand, under oath.

[Update a few minutes later]

Someone on an email list I’m on questioned whether or not it would be permissible to force an impeachment manager on the stand. I see no reason why not; the Senate makes the rules.

[Update mid aftenoon]

Impeachment has become simply another bludgeon in political battle.

  1. Call Schiff for brains. Call Pelosi. Call Comey and all of the others involved in the FISA mess, including the judges.

  2. This is why Mark Levin wants the Republicans to immediately bury the next Democrat president with subpoenas, investigations and impeachment. To teach them a lesson to not do that.

    I think that will fail.

Learning takes place when real pain is felt. The only thing that will stop this is if somehow Cocaine Mitch and Trump inflict excruciating, unbearable pain on Democrats for going along with the charade.

    Or, as stated in “A Knight’s Tale”: “Such a FONGING…..” 😉

A START…but only a start… would be an electoral massacre of the Democrats in November. Not only loss of the House but a loss of half the Dem seats up for grabs, a large extension of the GOP majority in the Senate.

Conservative media have to be blasting the airwaves with every failure of Dem-led cities, etc.

    Trump has shown the way.

  3. Spare a moment’s thought for the Unknown Whistleblower, fleeing though the cul-de-sacs of Greenbelt from Trump’s Russian assassins.

    1. Yes, Eric Ciaramella, Patron Saint of Whistleblowers (pbuh) needs to be questioned, before he involuntarily suicides and becomes a martyr for the cause.

  4. I joked elsewhere that it would be funny to call Schiff as a witness and have him simultaneously defend why he shouldn’t be forced to testify why arguing that Trump is abusing his powers by claiming executive privilege.

  5. If our Bicameral system worked properly and should the Senate vote to dismiss the House charges right after they are presented as without merit they should go full bore and with a simple majority pass a resolution of censure against the Speaker for bringing a frivolous impeachment case. It is unenforceable but splatters that stain of impeachment around a bit getting some on Pelosi and the House Dems as well as Trump… in perpetuity…
