  1. It’s a mental disorder. Self hatred projected upon someone else. Oikophobia is like a suicide cult. Masada, Branch Dividian, Heaven’s Gate, Jones Town: The guilt has been cast on the west, and the brain washed have lapped it up. It’s appears to infect noisy nihilists whom no longer see beauty in life. Beauty, family, practical competence banishes it to their Tarantula holes.

  2. They don’t hate themselves. Conservatives are whistling past the graveyard on this one: They just hate you. They’re not your countrymen and want to hurt you.

  3. This reads as a Freudio-Marxist blending of inevitable history with “psychology”. But it also contains a disturbing element that rings true, one that I don’t understand. That has to do with elitist people wanting to elevate themselves above everyone else by having the latter perceive that the elitist is better. Well, if the elitist genuinely believes that everyone else is inferior, of what value is the perception of everyone else?

Who motivates his or her life by achieving the awe of others? I don’t know of anyone who genuinely deserved such awe having ever sought it. And I don’t know of anyone who ever sought and achieved it who ever deserved it.

I think Ayn Rand’s The Fountainhead is probably the best treatment of this phenomenon ever written.
