If I were a Vulcan, I’d say that it’s simply evolution in action. Open borders during an epidemic gets your constituency killed. No constituents, no political base, no power. Problem solved.
I suspect however, there will be plenty of survivors all round. Happy for the constituency, wish they’d learn something to make better voters as a result, but not expecting it.
