  1. “If you have traveled somewhere in which the disease is prevalent, you should self-quarantine for a couple of weeks and be especially careful to avoid being around the elderly or infirm. ”

So, we all need to self-quarantine.

    1. I live in Northern Virginia. The state’s total population (2019) is 8.54 million. As of April 3rd, the total number of coronavirus cases was 2,673. That’s 0.03% of the population (51, or 0.0006% of the population, have died). I don’t consider that “prevalent.”

  2. I run a small business that sells at anime conventions and comic conventions. We’ve already had two events cancel outright and a third postponed — with new dates that conflict with another event we have lined up. And I have no idea how the surviving ones will do, with so many people out of work, and a lot of businesses probably closing their doors for good. I’m trying to get some online sales, but it’s a real uphill struggle.

    1. The comics business looks to be in a really bad way. Apparently the biggest US distributor is pretty much shut down, and Marvel is stopping production of a lot of their comics until the summer.

The big comics convention here made the mistake of moving from the fall to the spring in 2019, so I guess that won’t happen this year.

      1. Dunno, there may be a lot of free hotel space and airline seats available for the first of these “cons” to reschedule once the coast is clear.
