  1. Well it’s true of other forms of coronaviri known as the common cold. However, colds return in the fall. We don’t yet know what this virus will do. If I were an epidemiologist I’d want to know how it behaves in host bats across seasons. It appears the horseshoe bat lives in a seasonal climate but on the warmer side, not arctic or tropical. If extreme environments are bad for the host they might be bad for the virus.

  2. It also means that we run a risk of a replay in the fall, if we don’t have a usable vaccine by then.
