Seems like this would have application in two fields (no pun intended): nuclear fusion, and EMP weapons. I’m going to have to get my Library of Congress card renewed so that, whenever the Library reopens, I can do some research on this.

Maybe if they couple this technology with EM Drive they’ll get a propellant-less drive system that will work outside Earth orbit.
