Politica, economic and social divisions – dehumanizing us by insisting on face masks, social isolation, etc…
If I had to wear a mask everywhere and socially isolate so I could have the Keystone Pipeline back, I would go for the Keystone Pipeline.
Why the hate on masks? Yeah, yeah, our state governors are on a power trip, but do you really want to go into a store with sniffling, sneezing people not wearing masks? Do you want to go to see the doctor and sit in a waiting room elbow-to-elbow with people in the same state?
” do you really want to go into a store with sniffling, sneezing people not wearing masks?”
You mean, like we always have? Or were you masked up before this?
Do you want to go to see the doctor and sit in a waiting room elbow-to-elbow with people in the same state?
Nothing stopped you from wearing a mask before. I might could get behind a policy that says you should wear a mask when visiting a doctor. But even when we had the Keystone Pipeline being built, you wouldn’t see me booking a flight to sit in an uncomfortable tube while wearing a mask for hours. And wearing a mask to cross the threshold at the local restaurant is so much Kabuki theater. Wearing a mask in an office cubicle environment seems moronic.
If you ask me, the spin up to centripetal disintigration started right here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reynolds_v._Sims. We are a large empire made of a societal patchwork. East/West, North/South, Rural/Urban, Harvard Elite/Pipefitter. A republic should insure the minorities rights. In my state, Washington, everyone east of the Cascades hates King County…with reason. Majority tyranny is still tyranny.
It’s why both our State and Federal legislatures are bicameral.
Democratic and Representative are not congruent concepts. There is such a thing as ‘tyranny of the majority’. Applying the principle of districting by population runs counter to the founding principles of a Senate. See the Federalists papers. In this regard, the above cited ruling is another example of Warren Court error. The opinion of leftist academics aside.
