  1. “Yet for democracy to succeed, both sides must respect each other and be willing to abide by elections—something that Pelosi’s party, which spent years promoting the Trump-Russian collusion hoax, seems no more capable of doing than Trump.”

We have a long long history of not respecting each other and it hasn’t hindered our existence. Some people would even say vigorous disagreement is healthy because everything is challenged rather than living in a group think echo chamber.

Would we have any of the election protections we do if both sides trusted and respected each other?

After Trump’s election, even though it was blatant that Russian Collusion was the act of corrupt Democrats working at the highest levels of politics, the IC, DOJ, and in media, we had an investigation that many people supported. How many Republicans thought it would show Trump was innocent? After Biden’s “win”, we didn’t have any similar investigation. No effort was made by Democrats or Government to assure people that the election was free and fair.

Quite the opposite, every action by Government and the Democrats showed the election wasn’t free or fair and that Democrat rule would continue the corruption. Rather than doing anything to restore trust, Democrats and Government went the opposite route and began removing more election safeguards and using the power of the state to punish dissidents and also use the power of the state to coerce industry to punish dissidents as well.

    1. Apparently there is a circular firing squad forming between the Speaker, the White House and the CDC about an imminent expiration of the housing eviction moratorium that was a relief measure for persons who lost their job or experienced related hardship from the COVID lockdowns.

Furthermore, there was a Supreme Court decision that were the moratorium to be extended, this would have to be initiated by Congress through legislation rather than by executive order from the President, this happened about a month ago, and this issue is finally coming to the Speaker’s attention with 36 hours to go?

Maybe this moratorium should be allowed to expire as the Biden Administration is hinting because there are other sources of relief for the persons affected, or maybe this moratorium should be extended as the Speaker and Progressive members of her caucus are demanding. Whatever side of this issue you take, would you agree that someone “dropped the ball” here?

Do you think the Speaker ran low on chocolate candy and ice cream?
