Bureaucrats will always try to expand their empire, no matter the justification.
We should get in the habit of culling bureaucracies — any bureaucracy — 5-10% every year. By lottery if need be.
Parkinson’s Law is a thing, and it’s just as true now as when it was written decades ago.
(1) An official wants to multiply subordinates, not rivals, and
(2) Officials make work for each other.
I suspect Sen. Karen is now using whatever means to get her revenge.
This is being pushed by A4A, whose President is described via wikipedia as “a brand name” Republican, known for working well with Democrats. So he’s a Wesley Mouch.
When the NTSB has an office on orbit, they can have some responsibility in spaceflight.
Until then? STFU.
Note how they want authority, even in cases of no death or property damage…..in short, they want to have authority over everything
