  1. From the end of the article–

“Those who believe that the purpose—the lodestar—of science should be the pursuit of truth might find these trends worrisome. But it would be unethical and futile to attempt to roll back the enormous social gains women have made.”

The second sentence does not follow from the first, unless one accepts the assumption that “the pursuit of truth” and “social gains [by] women” are mutually exclusive. Unless there is some reason that women can’t pursue truth.

“A new and more female-oriented era is here for the foreseeable future.”

So we’re gonna get academia that now pursues other priorities pretending to be the academia whose reputation has was built up over the last few centuries by pursuing truth. Something about “wear its carcass as a skin suit, while demanding respect” comes to mind.

Yup. The issue isn’t about women but rather the ideology that currently dominates Academia and infects the minds of men just as easily as women. The age old jocular relationship between the attributes of men and women doesn’t apply, except for around the edges and the real issue gets ignored.

  2. Why do men try to help out women intent on destroying them? Hmmm. What could it be? There’s a word for it. Right on the tip of my tongue… Jeez. Starts with a P. Something to do with Felix ille Felis…

  3. Feh, I work with female employees. They have enough issues getting their own stuff done, they don’t have time to mess with the guys, or HR. I pretty much like them all but I’m 65 and old and a widower and stuph so nobody cares.
