  1. France is a signator of both the Moon and Artemis treaties. They are one of only four countries that have signed it. Others are “parties” to the treaty. So, it would do well for France to become consistent and leave the Moon treaty. And that would be a pretty significant blow to it.

    1. They only signed it, like India signed, but neither nation Ratified it, so by international treaty law they are NOT a party to it and are not governed by it.

The next nation that needs to withdraw is Australia, if they expect to do anything in space beyond Earth orbit.

  2. Straya is party to the Moon Agreement? I didn’t know that but it is consistent with the virtue signaling bullshit my country indulges in.

    1. I always thought that the common man in your country didn’t suffer foolish persons. Where does the virtue signaling of your political classes come from?

  3. Paul, they didn’t used to but that has all changed. The population meekly handed in their semi auto rifles in 1996 with nary a protest, the Australian Constitution was torn up by State governments over border closures in the covid panic and the High Court (equivalent of US Supremes) ruled that there was no implicit right to freedom of movement even inside you State. Free speech is also not a right and is limited to political opinion expressed to your parliamentary representative. All else can be stopped at the whim of the current government.
As Australian ex-pat in the UK, Clive James, used to say “the problem with Australia is not that too many are descended from convicts but too many are descend from warders”. The convict ones are all vying to be trusties or kapos.
    See the problem?

  4. Good. Well past time to undertake to make sure the Moon Treaty appears nowhere but the history books.
