  1. Not be to grim…but suppose it develops like this. One; come Tuesday contrary to expectations the judge “decides” no change of venue. 2nd decides that Trump is a “flight risk”; no bail insists on jailing him. What’s to stop this apparently Trump hating judge from giving the dems what they want; the “perp-walk” staring Donald J. Trump?

  2. “Equal justice under the law” is and always has been a pretty-sounding lie taught to schoolchildren. It never has been true, but in the Banana Republic of America, it’s a bigger lie than ever.

    1. Hope I’m wrong Larry but what if this trump hating judge does what I suggested denies the change of venue he’ll be tried and trump hating Manhattan. And also refuses bail claiming hes a flight risk cuz hes not native to New York any longer he lives in Florida and he travels around a lot.

    2. Oligarchy Vs. Republic. One bright red line is Equality before the Law in distinguishing between them. Humans being humans it is often difficult to approach this ideal in practice

But when the corruption is allowed to fester in a blatant display and is applauded then a republic is in its twilight.

Because Trump is evil incarnate; he after all almost “stole our democracy”. So anything/anyone who finds a way to stop him (Bragg) is to be applauded; who cares if the charges are garbage he (Trump) must be stopped at all costs! Won’t be surprised like I said if the judge denies the change of venue; possibly even bail for Trump because he is a “flight risk”.

  3. In jail awaiting decayed trial.. No more rallies no more speeches no more posts on social media only limited contact with his lawyer and if he violates any of that why not do a Paul Maniford and put him in solitary confinement?

  4. Well here I was expecting a post stating all charges against Donald J. Trump had been forced to be dismissed by the District Attorney for the Southern District of NY due to a procedural error with the Grand Jury when it was found to contain a few non-citizen Russian migrants.

    Being April 1st after all.

  5. As long as we’re finding charges against politicians, I suggest a general review of the entire congress based on their stock portfolios and indications of inside trading.

  6. Just one thing– nothing is official. It’s all based on unsubstantiated rumors published in the New York Times (“only the news that fits.”). The same people who a week ago said that Trump was making it all up when he said he was going to be indicted.

And it was the Pompeian Senate’s attempt to criminalize the populist Caesar that led to Augustus and the end of the Republic a couple of decades later.

Well attorney Alan Dershowitz made the point of saying that leaking (if this is correct) information from a grand jury investigation is a felony under NY law; and further stating that the prosecutor (Bragg) didn’t seem the least bit interested in investigating the source of said “leak”.

  7. John “Two Americas” Edwards was prosecuted (then the jury deadlocked) for misstatements and diversion of campaign moneys to Rielle Hunter.

In both cases the smart play should have been for the well-connected politician to set up the mistress with a cushy lucrative JOB in the fashion or cosmetic industry, as Monica requested of Bill. (Bill arranged, instead, that the ‘intern’ jump straight into a mid-management GS-9 slot in the Pentagon…) Very hard to “follow the money” when it’s all just good-ol-boy networking and string pulling and favoritism, nepotism, and “spoils”.

  8. We’ll see what the charges are and if they can prove them in court. My take is that even if Trump is being charged with crimes that aren’t normally prosecuted, it would become a precedent to charge others with those crimes and hold politicians to a better standard.

  9. I’m intrigued by Buck Throckmorton’s suggestion on Ace this morning, based on a tweet by Jesse Kelly. DA’s in Red States should start indicting high profile Dems. Buck’s primary target is Mayorkas, who could be charged as an accessory to all crimes committed by illegals who came in during his tenure at DHS. Sure it’s stupid, but not as stupid as trying to crank up an old personal NDA agreement that’s questionably a state misdemeanor that’s past its statute of limitations into a federal election felony despite the fact that no election funds were involved. They might just have to follow Sean Connery’s advice to Kevin Costner in The Untouchables.

  10. The damage this does to our system doesn’t matter to the people who want to overthrow our system of government and culture. One could argue accelerationists are running things.
