  1. They’ve had one Republican governor since 1962, see a pattern? From reading, it looks like the warnings came too late for people to evacuate.

  2. At a glance, there seems to be a number of problems – civil warning system didn’t go off, the authorities had both called the fire 100% contained early in the day and later the authorities advised people on the west side of town to shelter in place.

    Also, likely the situation has improved since the story came out, but as of three days ago, they had a thousand missing people.
