Different people do different things differently.
You can quote me on that.
There is a term that describes what is taking place, reimaging. Not reimagining but reimaging. It is common throughout history.
Rome is the context I learned about it. Coinage, public/private art, dramas, ect all changed to support political narratives of the people who commissioned those images and the other side, displacing images from the past or competing political groups.
The mediums change but the goal remains the same. The written word is a part of this, not separate from it.
