  1. Pierre Poilievre, Canada’s newest minister post-portfolio, is rumored to be returning to his prior business of upstream canoe adventures on the Canadian side of the Niagra River.

  2. I became obvious months ago that there was no longer a reason to elect Not-Justin once Anybody-But-Justin became PM. The Canadians at least re-elected a figurehead who seems mentally competent.

Last year I was afraid that that was going to happen to Trump once the Dems eased Slojoe out of the way. Fortunately the Dems were stuck with the DEI hire. (I’m still amazed that Slojoe lasted the full four years and she wasn’t running as incumbent. Maybe the Dem leadership was afraid she was going to be another loser like Jerry Ford.)

  3. The Conservatives gained 20 seats, and their highest percentage of the popular vote since the 80s. The left managed to un-split itself just enough to squeak the Liberals over the line, and into a minority government. So it goes. They’re going to have a rough time, especially once people get to know Carney better.

I just hope Poilievre uses the next two years to get a spine implant.

  4. A similar disaster will befall Australia next Saturday when we have a Feral Election, especially if the Australian Labor Party needs Greens support. If they don’t at least we’ll have lube. If greens support required, no lube.
