[Afternoon update]
The LA chaos is an illusion, and Trump will not fall for it.
I know the narrative we are supposed to be talking about is anti-immigration protest, but I have a few questions:
Why does the phrase LA Riot seem so familiar?
Why is it not surprising to turn on the TV and see vehicles on fire, people looting the Nike Store stealing Air Jordans, while a person talks about this being a peaceful protest?
This seems like a man-made event that is occurring in a singular place called Paramount California, so why are people calling this a test of Donald Trump?
To be fair, I heard a similar riot was attempted in NYC, but NYPD shut it down and arrested people. Other than a few news stories, it was over in a couple of hours. Therefore, I think this is a local LA story and local leadership failing to provide civil order.
Final question, this is the second big news event of LA civilian leadership failing to protect the citizens and businesses in LA. How much do they pay these leaders to fail them?
Keep in mind that Trump is contributing to these riots. He could ignore it and it’d burn itself out in a few days or weeks. By acting tough, he’s inciting more such protest on larger scale. This is the same formula he used with the Floyd riots back when.
Trump isn’t inciting anything.
What Trump does or doesn’t do will have no impact on whether or not there are protests because protesting is the strategy. They aren’t a response to anything. They are a deliberate strategy that was always planned to take place.
Think of it like calling people racist. It doesn’t matter whether they are racist or not and nothing they can do can stop the accusation because the entire purpose of making the accusation is to make the accusation.
Left to fester, the protests wont peter away. They will continue and build in intensity and diversity of action.
You are off base on the BLM riots. There wasn’t much if any federal response and local police in blue cities acted on behalf of Democrat politicians. The Democrat police interactions with Democrat protesters were theater designed to generate support for the riots.
IIRC, the only federal response was after federal buildings were set on fire with people inside by Democrat’s black shirts and after Democrats tried to storm the white house. This was deep into riot season.
Cybertruck is the only autonomous armored vehicle on the market. Google should pivot to WayMRAP.
For an armored vehicle, it seems rather lightly protected.
From what I have seen the body panels will stop 9mm and .45 Auto bullets fired at close range. That should be enough for most American riots. Bullet resistant windows and run-flat tires would be nice options.
A bomb went off in the bed of a cybertruck not so long ago. The interior wasn’t damaged.
When you see a pallet of red bricks being dropped off at a parking lot a week before the riots, where no nearby buildings, walkways or landscaping uses red bricks…

Yes, it is all protest theater. The people who control the cops also control the protesters. The are two audiences. One, les gullibles that passively consume media and believe everything they are read/watch on google/apple/windows news and network TV.
Two, Democrats. Democrats don’t know what their own party does. They don’t know how these protests are organized and think everyone are just randos. They don’t think their party is Marxist and don’t wonder why so many Marxist groups are at Democrat organized protests. They think violence is bad but who can blame these randos who were provoked? They share the same beliefs but don’t like the violence, so they like cops shutting it down but not like that! Of course, we must be sympathetic to people exercising their 1a rights and the cops went too far, so the people arrested must all be set free with charges dropped.
But the same people who control the protesters control the cops. Democrats love a good story and as long as there is some craft, they suspend disbelief. The more gullible, the less effort that needs to go into it. No one asks, “Why are Democrats organizing violent protests and then Democrat police agencies are used to scuffle with them in what is obvious kayfabe?”
