When they’re taught that playing moral trump cards determines truth (not that they have any respect for an objective truth, as opposed to a person’s “lived truth”), then their logical reasoning abilities are rendered useless, and seem to atrophy. It’s like giving them a cheat code that lets them bypass serious thinking.

By definition, students are ignorant – that’s why they go to school, even university.
They are not curing ignorance, nor are they doing anything about their cultural stupidity.
