The “Ceasefire”

…is merely a strategic pause. And the blockade of Iran is part of it.

  1. So no plan got it we weren’t ready if Iran didn’t collapse in the first 6 weeks. Guess we now know who were the idiots.

        1. What kind of moron are you that you imagine that I’m omniscient? And the notion that Democrats “clean their own house” is laughable. They’ve known about Swalwell for years, and have admitted it. They only got rid of him because they were afraid they would lose the governorship of California.

        2. The funny part is GOP voters already cleaned the House of Tony Gonzales. His fate was sealed by voters.

On the other hand, as Rand noted, everyone is now admitting they knew of Swalwell’s poor behavior for years, yet kept backing him and letting him win elections. Only when Swalwell threatened the lose of a major blue state office, was he deemed something to get rid of. And for what? To help Katie Porter? She’s the better option over Swalwell? Her reputation is well known too, but again Democrats rather support that reputation if they think it will win.

Of course, the reason progressive want to talk about anything other than Iran is they can see the writing on the wall now. Iran is not and will not be a negative for Republicans in 2026. There is broad support for taking action against Iran, and that action is much closer to being resolved than Democrats want to hope. So much so that progressives are outing themselves as hoping Iran somehow defeats the US. The smarter ones hide behind a nom de guerre, when they support the enemies of the US.

  2. You watch Fox news every night or so I thought figure you watching the “News” you should know what been happening, or did you stop when they got rid of your favorite host who totally not a Nazi Tucker Carlson.
Apologize for believing you weren’t a low information voter I guess I was wrong.
    Btw Gonzeles is out too.

      1. Thank you I’ll take that as a badge of honor from someone who thought Candice Owens belonged on the supreme court, Thought Tucker Carlson was someone worth listening to 3 years ago. Who compared the bozo Secertary of “WAR” to one of our greatest generals in US History.

        1. If I ever thought that Candace Owens belonged on the Supreme Court, it had to be before she went nuts, and probably in comparison with the woman who couldn’t define what a woman was. And no one here, or with any two neurons to rub together, cares what you consider a badge of honor. We certainly seem to have done a pretty good job of war against Iran with the current Secretary of War. They are incapable of waging any serious war.

  3. It’s pretty easy to see the progression of steps given the outcomes. But my concern is:

What if China decides to run the blockade?

Unlike the morons, I have confidence that this possibility has been considered. I wonder what various responses have been considered.

    1. Does China have sufficient assets in the region to successfully escort ships? Given the stellar performance of their weapon systems in Iranian hands, would they risk a confrontation?

      1. It seems if China put any Chinese navy vessels in region, they will be accidentally sunk. Or I don’t think even a Chinese sub would be safe anywhere near the region.

      2. I think the pressure would be on the US if China just ran a civilian ship into an Iranian port.

        Would the US sink it?

That would, perhaps, be an act of war.

Try to stop it? What if it didn’t stop? Then what do you do?

Is China concerned/convinced that Trump would do everything necessary to stop the ship? If so then they might hold back.

        Touchy thing.

        1. Why not simply detain it.
Why sink a perfectly good ship?
But if it’s shitty ship, it could be environmental threat to the ocean.

          1. Detaining can be construed as an act of war.

Even if not, what would China’s reaction be to such a detention?

I’m not saying the blockade is wrong – I like it. I’m just trying to game out possible outcomes/contingencies.
