Inveterate enmity is not really a form of insanity. It is a form of identity that shapes a community. It is likely inherent to tribal society. A quote attributed to some Egyptian official goes along the lines of “Arab ‘nations’ are actually tribes with flags”. There may indeed be something to that.

Woah — this is disturbing, but sounds very solid.
How do you deal with a people who don’t care what it cost them (lives, children, etc), all they care about is fighting and killing you? I’ld think after 40 years – new generations who didn’t care would rise and take over – and calm things down. If they are carrying on the madness…. ?
Only answer I can think of is damn bloody. Kill them all?
Why? Because Dark Ages Arab culture was fossilised by the advent of Islam – which is that culture of that era turned into a religion.
Kelly, there is one way short of your solution that might just work; to absolutely unmistakeably show them that their demon god can’t protect either them or his own holy places. Mecca, Medina and Qom being turned into frozen lakes of green glass might just do that. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can (or should) do about the fourth holy place.
