  1. that doesn’t look like any of the resignation resignations I’ve read.

Actually seems petulant, and almost as though “terminated” was accentuated in a “You can’t fire me I QUIT!” sorta way.

    Or is that just me?

  2. Interesting:

    Excerpt:
“Since, he is no longer affiliated with AEI, I feel free to say publicly something he told me in private a few months ago. He asked if I had noticed any comments by AEI “scholars” on the subject of health care reform. I said no and he said that was because they had been ordered not to speak to the media because they agreed with too much of what Obama was trying to do.”

  3. He can always write for the NYT. I would bet he will so they can say they have TWO consevatives. Well, for Manhattan anyway.

  4. I read Bartlett’s piece. Funny that Bartlett has not tried CATO. They aren’t exactly Republicans, but they don’t think Obamacare was red hot either. WHen I was on the Hill, I usually ditched the RNC talking points after skimming them, and made a point of checking out what CATO had to say. CATO’s libertarian stuff usually was the best and least political when it came to analysis. I do think AEI did good analysis, too.

  5. Doug, I would understand if you don’t want to say, but you’ve peaked my interest: in what capacity were you on the hill?

  6. Poor ol’ Uncle Dave, Massa ‘Bama’s faithful servant and the Hive’s polite, well-mannered “house” conservative.. This shows you he ain’t one of them uppity conservatives who threaten the Plantation.

  7. “…he said that was because they had been ordered not to speak to the media because they agreed with too much of what Obama was trying to do.”

Gee Bob-1, I guess they forgot to send Newt, Lynne Cheney and others the memo.

  8. Like David Brooks, Frum is what in past years the MSM of its era called a “responsible” conservative. “Responsible” meant, “No threat to the Plantation.” They were the polite, deferential, well-mannered–and gelded– “house” conservatives who would be trotted out to show how open-minded the Hive is, and to denounce the more “uppity” conservatives and libertarians who did threaten the Plantation. I call them “Uncle Daves.”

  9. Geez, I’m repeating myself. Sorry. Although the second post about the “Uncle Daves” makes my point more adroitly, I think.
I’m having some sinus trouble that’s making me spacey. God bless Massa ‘Bama for giving me free health care!

  10. I bet you did Bob. I wouldn’t call it an article though. Screed, polemic, rant maybe; definitely not an article.
