I’m Confused

New Hampshire has banned fish pedicures.

It seems like a redundant and unnecessary law to me. Last time I checked, fish couldn’t afford pedicures. Not to mention that they don’t have pedis to cure. Even in New Hampshire. Though if they do, it will really upset the Discovery Institute.

And yes, before you comment, this is an Emily Litella moment.

  1. It’s being down in the “backrooms” of salons in NYC. Definitely has to be banned!

  2. The fish were doing the work and not getting paid. Slavery is banned in the US and so now this is too.

  3. Enforcement will probably be lax. If a cop comes in, you just slip him a fin, and he’ll look the other way.

  4. Rand, don’t you realize the danger here? If this was allowed to go on, fish could lose their feet!

  5. What about a fish mohel?

Poppa used to skinny dip in this pond back of the house in the woods, which we had stocked with bluegill. Bluegill like to nip at swimmers. Momma heard Poppa yelp. A bluegill had bit him.

  6. Another classic case of job protectionism. Now the undocumented fish workers will be forced to provide their services on the dangerous pedicure black market, just to feed their families. All so some union human pedicurist can keep their high prevailing wage rates.

  7. If there are people in the backwoods with six toes due to inbreeding, maybe the fish in those parts have extra toes too?
