  1. It’s like Doug doesn’t even remember the giggle factor of private human spaceflight prior to SpaceShipOne. I know it’s hard to keep that in mind, what with us entering the second decade of little to no progress and all.

    1. Doug has this fixed idea. He sees the rapid progress made during the X-Prize and Lunar Lander Challenge, and the relatively slow progress since that time (with no follow-up prizes) and concludes the problem is caused by — prizes!

      Rather like the man whose car runs out of gas in the middle of the desert and blames gas stations.

        1. Which is completely irrelevant. The GLXP is not, and was not intended to be, a follow-on to the X-Prize.
