  1. That’s well written, but poorly reasoned.

In the real world, the visitors aren’t able to hop on a flight to Cleveland. The tourists can’t leave the island, as they happen to live there. Someone has to keep growing food and delivering food or there won’t be any food, and all the “tourists” will starve to death.

So somebody has to figure out how to guard the farmers and delivery workers from the raptors while the critter round-up continues, and the islanders have to figure out how to go about their lives if the critter round-up takes years.

So it might be more accurate to liken it to shutting down Kenya because lions are on the loose. Hunkering down in the village is unsustainable after Sally Struther’s UNICEF rice runs out. Eventually the folks will say “To heck with the lions. I’m going to go out and hunt a zebra. Do you want light meat or dark meat?”

  2. About the caliber of what I’d see on one or another of the late-night shows, if I could stand to keep watching any of them.

  3. COVID-19 in the US is a hoax, perpetuated by the Democrats after all their other hoaxes failed. Comey hoax, Russian collusion hoax, Ukraine impeachment hoax. Stand up for your rights! DON’T wear a mask. Fewer people have died in the US from COVID-19 than died in 9/11. Demand TRUTH.

    1. Every protest movement needs a chant. May I suggest “Too big an ask, we won’t mask”?

  4. Is COVID-19 real? Yes.
    Does COVID-19 kill people? Yes.
But so do cars, drugs, street thugs, airplanes, alligators, doing stupid stuff, etc. Life is about risk, without risk you are not living. Our society is being run by NASA, no risk is acceptable.
