I was thinking about some of the issues raised earlier, particularly the need for geosynchronous position, and I realized that it could be possible to relay the power through geo orbit. In this architecture, the large collector array could be in any orbit, and beam power to a relatively small reflector in geo orbit. Technically more complex than a single platform, but I think it would lower costs enough to offset the tracking problems.
