EditGate

Was worse than Rathergate™:

The media dishonestly going after the president of the United States is wrong, but it goes with the territory, and the target in that case is the most powerful man in the world. That is something completely different from the media using lies and half-baked information to label as racist and a liar a private citizen while he’s in hiding for fear of his life.

Of course, the partisan hacks who did this probably don’t think there was anything wrong with Rathergate™, other than he got caught.

  1. I clearly remember during the previous administration the left making a big deal of “speaking truth to power”. But apparently their “Truth” is factually challenged, while the facts that challenge them are “lies”.

  2. Peter,
I didn’t understand WTH that phrase meant THEN, and I still don’t. If you’ve got a daffynition, I’d love to read it.

The Left really does believe that they can create ‘truth’ by getting off the first sound bite, the most often repeated sound bite or (obviously) by creating documents, editing video or audio for any given event. The sad part is not that they attempt it.

The sad part is how often they are successful at driving the ‘conversation’ and winning the day. And it’s because so many people are willing to listen and believe their BS without doing any homework or research of their own.

The fact that BHO sits in the WH, that Ronald Reagan’s name is used as an example of a bad President, and Jimmy Carter is seen as a good President shows just how much the Left controls ideas.

I’m part of a survivalists / preppers board online elsewhere. A recurring theme over there is, WILL U.S. Troops fire on American citizens if ordered to do so. Overwhelmingly most people think they would.

Oh it’s not cut and dry mind you. They know THEIR kid, brother, cousin won’t do it. But they are certain MY kid, YOUR kid, all the other kids will. I think it’s the ‘norm’ that people still think the troops are blood thirsty baby killers because of John Kerry and the lefty MSM.

I’ve given up defending the military. I know what I know and I’ve never changed any minds. But it’s truly shocking to me that people who claim to distrust the MSM, can so believe that the media’s depiction of the troops is dead on. It makes me question just how those same people will vote come November.

Or will they choose NOT to vote and allow BHO his ‘freedom’ years?

    1. It was supposedly about exposing a truth that those in power went to great effort to keep hidden. But as I said, the left’s truth is factually challenged, which would cause confusion calling it by that phrase.

As for what the US military would do if ordered to turn on peaceful civilians, that is one order I’d expect to produce wide spread mutiny, and perhaps get the officer who gave it shot.

  3. I’m not sure I agree with one part of that. I think it is generally believed that Reagan was one of the best Presidents of this last 50 years and Carter used to be the worst… it will probably take another 20 years before the left comes around to the agreement that Barack has taken the crown from Jimmy.

    1. They will never admit that the Obama has done a poor job, not even 5 years from now when Obama’s support of Arab spring will be shown to have helped the ME become awash in Islamist civil war. Oh wait, that time is now.

      1. I suspect otherwise. Once Obama is gone from office, and no longer serves to support the broader agenda he will be discarded as no longer useful. If it is a choice between blaming the entire liberal worldview (bad economics, bad social policy, no understanding of foreign affairs, etc.) for the debacle of the last 4 years, or simply putting the blame on the failings of one man (and lets be honest, Barry O has plenty of those…), the Left will be happy to make Obama the fall guy.

  4. Apparently NBC has fired the producer responsible for the piece. Don’t know if they’ve apologized to Zimmerman though…hope he sues their asses off.
