  2. On the Bush tax rates: “The additional revenue would lower the deficit, but the Congressional Budget Office warns it would thrust the economy back into recession.”

    Huh? How would their be “additional revenue” that would “lower the deficit” if, by their own admission, the higher tax rate caused a recession?

    Why do these people assume higher tax rates equals higher tax revenue?

    Especially when they obviously know (given the last part of the sentence) that higher tax rates hamper economic growth!

    1. Not that I accept Jim’s statements of GOP preferences at face value, but he opposed the GOP both times.
