  1. Biden (or his handlers) seems to be looking at FDR’s policies as a How-To Guide. Authoritarian State 101, as it were.

  2. It is more than a little worrisome that many in the administration-elect are seriously looking at COVID lockdown strategies that can be applied to the new incoming Climate Crisis elect. For starters, I can envision this; a two tiered rationing system that allows one price of gasoline for ‘essential’ workers that must drive and another for the ‘non-essential’ workers that should really just telecommute (or starve depending upon their voting record and social media presence). $12/g gasoline here we come. You want to travel the interstate highways you better have ‘your travel papers’ in order. Or you won’t be able to buy gas along the way. Same with air travel. Even more so there. OTOH maybe I can get a low-interest government loan to buy a Tesla? It’s the only way I’ll be able to afford one.

    1. I think one of the quickest things we can do to address climate change is cut the power grid and the fuel deliveries to the blue cities. US CO2 emissions would plummet overnight, and the liberal mayors would be thrilled to see their populations sacrificed for the cause. I can’t think of anything more virtuous they could do to show how much they care.

  3. It is becoming more and more obvious that the incoming administration has adopted policy goals that will quickly plunge the United States into something more than a recession or even depression. It will send this country into a Dark Age that will make the actual Dark Ages seem like a big step up. People in this country are not equipped to even survive without cheap, reliable energy. We’re staring directly into the maw of the collapse of civilization.
