  1. I would be quite happy if the new regime just gets out of the way, and doesn’t kill civilian development.

  2. I’m sure the commie Biden-Harris administration will do its best to hinder the private space industry.

    1. Meh, his master Emperor Palpobama was content to stick to benign neglect. I need something to be optimistic for afterall.

    2. Musk is a bit of a cult figure for Democrats, so there is some protection, but NASA will continue being run by progressive Marxists and their policies will reflect that.

      1. Musk hasn’t had kind things to say about the governance of California and I can’t see democrats as a whole overlooking such impertinence on his part forever.

        1. Agreed. He’s also chosen Texas over California, opposed COVID restrictions, has taken the “red pill”, and most of all is set to become the richest white male in the world. When articles come out against Musk, it’s almost always coming from the left.

  3. Shelby’s power will be greatly reduced. Pork spending in Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas will be a lower priority.

  4. Space hasn’t been a priority in most all administrations. Yet, each administration feels the need to place their own stamp on space policy. And so they do and these policies have consequences — for good or bad. So, instead of positing that space won’t be a priority, the pertinent question is, “What will Biden’s policy be and what impact will it have”?

Space wasn’t a priority for Obama but they did come out with a new space policy.
    – After attempting to essentially shut down HSF but we’re stopped by congress
    – They none-the-less advanced commercial space nicely (good)
    – They continued the SLS & Orion (bad)
    – They excluded lunar surface exploration or development (bad)
    – They pursued an ever-changing asteroid initiative (lame).

  5. I suspect that space will not be a priority in a Harris/Biden administration.

I suspect you will be right. Hopefully SpaceX will have enough commercial business to carry it through the coming dry spell. Although I can’t see Harris/Biden killing off missions to the ISS just yet. Maybe at the end of hxym 2nd term. Instead of a mission to the moon, I suspect Harris as head of the space program (typically the VP) will be just fine to commission more studies of what is needed to get to the moon and maybe one or two SLS launches as ‘proof of concept’ necessary to allow those studies to ‘go forward’.

  6. I have no idea how Pace was running things. All I know is that I’ve had no respect for his knowledge or honesty ever since his “SLS vs. Falcon Heavy is like an aircraft carrier vs. a container ship” op-ed, which hilariously underquoted the Heavy’s thrust by a factor of 3 (i.e., using thrust specs for a Falcon 9).
