  1. Actually I think the Elites are loyal only to themselves. But they see siding with China as a way to boost their standing.

    Something about riding the back of the tiger comes to mind.

    I think China’s leaders are a lot more serious, a lot more powerful, and a lot more deadly than the Elites.

    And I think someday the elites will find that out.

    A walking legend around here, said that clearly means Thomas Friedman was right to praise the autocrats who led 800 million people out of poverty. They also have magnificent power grids that could never damage a electric vehicle.
