In affirmation of this principle, I’d like to have a different cost experience at the gas pump than the one we currently measure as well!

Sadly, if someone is self-motivated, they probably would have vastly richer learning experiences outside of the regimented prisons we call schools.

Read any older book. Any of them from about the 1800s to about the 1930s. We are all mental cripples in comparison, and our children are being reduced to savagery.

Everyone loves to go to war over the minds of their neighbors children, and loudly beat one tribal drum or another. The conservatives may have the right of the argument right now (they are entirely outcast from any authority), but even their bleating is getting a little old. Only a child’s parents really have the child’s interests at heart. What we call society *intends* to ruin them, to reduce them to programmed footsoldiers for one stupid cause or another, docile slaves for one stupid industry or another.

The aristocrats of earlier ages seem to know better: They educated their own kids in early life, with their own tutors, answerable to them.
