‘Debt ceiling’ is a joke, given that is moved every time it is approached.
When will there be leadership with the guts to say ‘no’?
The debt ceiling is real, and it’s spectacular!
Seriously people, our Consitution’s checks and balances means this is an opportunity to examine our finances over a longer term. There is ample precedent for the debt ceiling being used as a basis for negotiation and political compromise. Presidents of both parties have had to do this, and presidents of both parties have “given ground.”
So far, Mr. McCarthy has shown evidence of understanding this.
When? Well, servicing the debt costs as much as the defense budget and those marks and idiots still don’t think it is a big deal.
