It is a shame that despite being mostly open minded and an excellent writer, Bari Weiss retains too many biases to leave the poor relationships she made in the past and accept others who might otherwise agree with her. For example, she was recently interviewed by the guys from Triggernometry after the Oct. 7th attacks. She was asked about her support of Democrats, and her complaint about Republicans was their history of xenophobia, by which she means the stance on immigration, by which she means the stance on border control. She perfectly understands Israel’s need for border control and doesn’t consider them xenophobic, but if conservatives have a similar stance, it is xenophobia. This is important, because this same narrative belief is what drives the DEI that she complains about here. Which for me, makes her arguments hollow.
