The Tyrannical States

Bob Zimmerman is not happy (to put it mildly).

Legally, it’s not really martial law, which is when the military literally takes over, but it’s certainly multiple violations of the Bill of Rights.

[Update a few minutes later]

One way to improve the lockdown; stop being hypocritical tyrants.

[Update a few more minutes later]

South Dakota has a governor who is behaving responsibly, so the WaPo decided to smear her, because she’s (you know) a Republican.

[Update a few minutes later]

No, Raleigh police, protesting is in fact not a “non-essential activity.”

[Update a while later]

Note the comment at Bob Zimmerman’s post about the New Jersey dance instructor teaching on line alone in her studio, who was ordered to stop by the police, because she was “working.” Apparently, the state wants to make it illegal to earn a living, regardless of risk level.

Crossfire Hurricane

It’s official: Every aspect of it was shady.

It was a corrupt criminal conspiracy against first a presidential candidate of the opposition party and then a president. And there should be little doubt that the Obama White House was fully aware of it. One of the reasons that a lot of this is coming out now (and the State Department refused to ask for Executive Privilege to prevent Hillary from being deposed) is that Grenell is finally starting to clean house (which was why the Left went nuts when Trump appointed him) in preparation for Ratcliffe to take over as DNI.

But will there be indictments this time around? I hope that history is not prelude. It’s up to Barr now.

Closing Nature

With all the March and April rain, I figured it would be a good year for poppies in the desert, but they closed the reserve on Wednesday. Anza Borrego is closed, too, except to residents of Borrego Springs.

We’d like to just go for a drive, to seen the green hills and flowers, but Patricia is afraid of getting pulled over. But I don’t think they’re doing that, and I don’t think they should even be discouraging driving. There is no risk of spread from it, other than the occasional need to get gas. It seems like they should be offering options for relief from cabin fever.

[Sunday-morning update]

We took a drive around Palos Verdes peninsula yesterday. Lovely drive as always, with mustard on the hillsides greening everything up.

Couldn’t pull over at view areas, trails closed, bike paths closed, beaches closed, Point Vicente (where we go to watch the whales migrating) closed. Drove past the hospital ship in San Pedro. The 710 and 405 were eerily empty, like it was 3 AM.
