I’ve been seeing this a lot on lefty twitter feeds (including people who are supposed to be professional scientists and science communicators). No, not everything is racism, and pointing out that some individuals are more susceptible to covid than others is not eugenics.

Slightly OT?
I’ve seen claims that various minorities are more likely to die from COVID than white people. Some people say this is because of racism and other people say it is because of genetic issues. But! The people who are in charge of rationing healthcare based on race don’t say it is because of genetic predisposition to die from COVID but rather racism is the reason for the rationing.
It would be rather useful to know if there were genetic factors that make people more susceptible to COVID and if there were any, it would be useful to know if that is why healthcare is distributed by race rather than racism.
