I think they would rather instigate a Civil War to maintain some pretense of a moral high ground but their COVID reaction shows they would be happy to fill ditches with dissidents.
Wait until the red states reciprocate by no longer sending food to the blue states.

Even if the red states were as hugely economically vulnerable as he thinks they are, even the worm turns. They can’t afford an endlessly stream of tyrannical demands backed by economic threats.
