When God Goes Away

…superstition takes his place. Including things like the climate-change religion.

I think it was Chesterton who said that when people cease believing in God, they don’t believe in nothing, they believe anything. This is why, despite my own lack of belief, I think that attacks on organized religion by the Left (as engaged in by people like Dawkins and Dennett) can be disastrous. Like death, God serves a useful societal purpose, if not for every individual, whether He exists or not.

Mitt Romney

Why he isn’t President Romney.

Mitt was a good businessman (and a good man, among the best ever to run for president), and the country would be in much better shape, both domestically and overseas, if he had won. But he had (and has) no discernible political principles or ideology, and cannot fathom anyone who does. The electorate could tell, and they wanted something more.

I’m having serious link issues today. Fixed now, sorry.

Bob Woodward

…is sounding both partisan and senile on Fox News Sunday. No one is accusing Clinton of a crime in Benghazi. Her crimes have to do with her handling of email. But that’s no excuse for the Democrats to pretend that there’s nothing there, and run interference for her. This has been policitized, but as always, it’s politicized by Democrats who refuse to hold members of their own party accountable for anything.
