Good news; SCOTUS may rein it in.
The original decision was from a much different court, and based on junk science.

How likely is to happen, and how? An interesting and apparently well-informed analysis.

[Afternoon update]
Putin has waited thirty years to sort out Ukraine.
The left doesn’t like it, but the right doesn’t need them to.
Government schools were always a project of the left, going back to socialist John Dewey. It’s time to blow up the system.
And I hope we see a lot more of this sort of thing. Anger about schools could be a gateway drug to questioning leftist views on many other issues.

The biggest educational innovation is school choice.

Dems’ covid hysteria is driving away liberal mothers.
For Wagner, the ‘schools issue’ proved to be a gateway into seeing the world through another set of eyes.
She realized early in the pandemic that it was conservative sites who were reporting on the impact of school closures and concerns she had over curriculum.
She went from a casual viewer of CNN and MSNBC to seeking out Fox News clips about the ‘schools issue’ on YouTube because they were the only ones covering it.
Soon, she did the unthinkable: She just turned on Fox News itself. And she realized, ‘It’s not what CNN claims it to be.’
…Ashley warned, ‘I’m about as lefty as they come. I campaigned for Elizabeth Warren in 2020, Bernie Sanders in 2016, and Ralph Nader in 2000. Most of my views on specific issues haven’t changed… Now I don’t know if I can vote for any of them unless they reckon with what they did, and continue to do, to kids during this pandemic.’
‘I would even accept an apology, a mea culpa, a reflection on what they failed to do, and an effort to make it right. But I’m not holding my breath.’
Good plan. Because it will never happen. These morons’ egos will never allow it. Parents will remember for a long time how their kids were sacrificed at the pleasure of the Democrats and teachers’ unions. And there will be a terrible reckoning for them in November, just as there was in Virginia.
It’s arrived safely at ESL2.

A depressing essay by a Canadian.

Intelligent Californians aren’t. Unfortunately, there are apparently too few of us.

…is starting to unravel.
“After the Republicans win the midterm elections, they should keep the January 6 committee in place — but under new management. San Fran Nan’s committee set a few precedents that should be very useful. The minority party has no rights. Committee members are subject to the approval of the Speaker of the House. Executive privilege is a thing of the past. Any member of the opposing party is also fair game. The Republicans should subpoena Merrick Garland, Christopher Wray, and Nancy Pelosi. I’m dying to see how Granny Boxwine does under questioning from Ted Cruz…”
